Prostate Unit

The Prostate Unit at San José Hospital uses state-of-the-art technology such as fusion-guided biopsy, which provides greater diagnostic accuracy, a lower risk for patients and the implementation of appropriate therapeutic measures for its treatment. The new prostate markers used by the unit team of specialists make the diagnosis of prostate cancers 30 percent more effective than using the classic biopsy approach, that is, the one carried out through the rectum, with which some types of cancers would go undetected.
